Kerala Style Prawn Fry



Ingredients :
  • 250 gms Prawns (shells removed and cleaned)
  • 1 small onion
  • 1/2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/4 cup chopped coconut
  • 2-3 tbsp tamarind extract
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 10 curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander
Method :
  • Heat oil in a pan or kadhai and temper mustard seeds. Add fennel seeds and saute a while.
  • Add chopped onions, chopped coconut and curry leaves. Fry for 2 mins. Add ginger-garlic paste and prawns.
  • Saute a while. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, pepper powder and salt to taste.
  • Add tamarind extract and cook it covered for 10 mins. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot.
